St Vincent De Paul Society
Vincent de Paul is the Patron Saint of the Society that bears his name. In 1885, Pope Leo XIII named Vincent patron of all works of charity, and therefore he is also known as the “Apostle of Charity” and the “Father of the Poor”.
The Society of St Vincent de Paul is a Catholic lay organization that leads women and men to join together and grow spiritually be offering person-to-person service to the needy and suffering in the tradition of its founder, blessed Frederic Ozanam, and patron, St Vincent de Paul.
The essential elements of the Society are Spirituality, Service, and Fellowship:
What we do, we do through Him and for Him. We see the face of Christ in those we serve.
We serve Our Lord by serving our brothers and sisters in need.
What does the Society do at St Mary Church?
The Society aids those in our parish and community in need of assistance. Such as, facing the loss of a job, eviction or utility cut off, food purchases, medical and prescriptions.
